Rutgers–New Brunswick welcomes students who are the first in their family to attend college. In fact, 29% of students in last year's incoming class were first generation. We offer several programs designed to ensure the success of historically excluded, first-generation, and low-income students:
- Student Support Services: Provides access to tutoring, workshops, and academic coaching in one-on-one and group settings.
- Paul Robeson Success Institute: A three-day, high-impact summer experience that connects students with faculty, administrators, and students, and identifies resources to support educational success.
- RU1st Initiative: Gain access to the RU1st transition course, academic advising and support, leadership experiences, and educational opportunity grants.
- Educational Equity & Excellence Collaborative (E3C): Facilitates an eco-system that is committed to equitable outcomes for New Jersey’s historically excluded populations.
With over 120 undergraduate majors, we have what you’re looking for. Can’t decide on one major? Choose two! You can double major or earn a combined BA or BS and master’s degree in five years.
