Next Steps for Admitted Students
Your journey to becoming a Scarlet Knight has begun with lots of activities ahead to help prepare you for Rutgers University–New Brunswick.
Activate Your NetID
Your first step is to activate your Rutgers NetID to access many of the electronic services available to you at Rutgers. Next, enroll in a two-step login with Duo. To protect Rutgers’ data and information security, the university will require all students to use a two-step login with Duo to access most services and tools requiring a NetID login.
Accept Your Offer
Ready to say “Yes” to Rutgers! Tell us by accepting your offer of admission and paying your nonrefundable $150 acceptance fee through your Rutgers Application Portal. Within 2-3 business days of paying the acceptance fee, access your myRutgers Portal to learn more about the next steps, such as course registration, housing and dining, financial aid, billing, final transcripts, new student orientation, and more.

Immunization Requirement
Admitted students for Fall 2024 must submit all required immunization documentation to the Rutgers Student Immunization Portal by June 1, 2024. Students who accept our offer of admission on June 1 must submit documentation within 21 days. Learn more at rutgers.edu/student-immunizations.

All financial aid and/or scholarship information can be found in your myRutgers Portal in the Financial Aid widget. All term bills will be made available by mid-July and can be viewed in your myRutgers Portal.

We take the health and safety of our student, faculty, and staff community seriously. Please submit all required immunizations and medical documents as soon as possible. If you are not cleared through Rutgers Health Services, you will be unable to receive your resident assignment in August or move into your dormitory.
If you are an international student and a required vaccination is not available in your home country, please work with Rutgers Health Services to schedule a vaccination appointment upon arrival on campus.

Before enrolling in health insurance, all students must register for classes. For health plan costs and enrollment procedures, please visit universityhealthplans.com. Once on this website, you will be required to enter your college/university name (“Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey”). You must then select student type and enter your nine-digit RUID.

Move-in for all fall 2024 admitted students will begin on August 25, 2024. The Office of Residence Life will send you additional details with confirmed move-in dates, times, and next steps.
Early move-in is not permitted, however, students arriving before Move-In Day can make temporary arrangements themselves at local hotels. The Hyatt Regency and The Heldrich are two hotels located near campus and the New Brunswick train station.

The New Student Orientation (NSO) for all first-year and transfer students begins on Monday, June 24, 2024. All NSO dates can be found here. First-year and transfer students should register for NSO by June 15, 2024.
International Student Orientation is Monday, August 26 to Wednesday, August 28, 2024, on the Livingston campus at Jersey Mike’s Arena: 83 Rockafeller Road, Piscataway, NJ 00854.
