Make the world a better place while taking advantage of our location in the heart of the Greater Philadelphia region. Innovative, hands-on education, surrounded by unlimited possibilities, all without incurring a lifetime of debt; that's where higher education is headed, Rutgers–Camden is leading the way.

Making Camden Your Home

Rutgers–Camden boasts the best of two vibrant cities: Camden and Philadelphia. The benefits for you? Our location in the heart of a major metropolitan area puts you within minutes of everything our region offers.

Career-Building Internships

From every direction, you’ll find opportunities to enrich your experiences outside of the classroom. In New Jersey, you’ll have access to a variety of pharmaceutical companies. Just over the Benjamin Franklin Bridge is Center City, Philadelphia’s business, government, and medical hub. If you’re willing to travel a bit farther, New York City and Washington, D.C. also offer countless internships to feed your curiosity. We’ll help you find the right educational experiences, internships, and job opportunities through our Career Center.

Happenings In and Around Camden

It’s all right here: the arts, history, sports, and culture. The Camden Waterfront, a short walk from campus, attracts three million visitors a year for entertainment. A quick train ride takes you into Philadelphia within minutes for restaurants, museums, historical sites, music and theater performances, and professional sports.

Civic Engagement

We’ll encourage you to make a difference in the city and region you call home to build stronger communities. Through civic engagement opportunities such as volunteerism, community-based research, or engaged civic learning courses, you can help meet the challenges of our communities and gain important skills along the way.

Student Life

From the very beginning you’ll be welcomed into our tight-knit community of curious collaborators. Learn and grow on a convenient and compact campus where everything is within a 15-minute walk. Despite our small size, you’ll expand your worldview and explore new interests through our diverse range of activities, organizations, and other opportunities for you to leave your mark.

I ultimately chose Camden over New Brunswick because of the potential. I wouldn’t have been able to get this involved in a bigger school. Serving in organizations and navigating a smaller campus opens up more opportunities with less competition.
