Rutgers uses the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to create your financial aid package. The types of financial aid available to you are based on your qualifications, financial need, and the funds available to the university.

Begin the Financial Aid Process

The Rutgers FAFSA federal school code is 002629.

To become eligible for financial aid, the first step is to apply by filling out the FAFSA. Candidates who file the FAFSA will be considered for all funds for which they are eligible. After Rutgers priority filing dates, funds will be awarded on an as-availailable basis.

Please note that international students (F-1 or J-1 visa holders) are not eligible by law for need-based financial aid.
