Financial Aid Types

Bridging the Gap

This innovative program reduces costs by covering up to 100 percent of remaining tuition for eligible first-year and Camden County College transfer students.

Scholarships & Grants

Rutgers–Camden offers a variety of gift aid to first-year and transfer students based on merit and need.

Federal Work-Study

Financially eligible students can be placed in part-time jobs on campus and in approved community service jobs off campus.

Veterans & Military

Once accepted, veterans should apply through the Office of the Registrar to receive education benefits. The Office of Veterans Affairs can help guide you.

Equal Opportunity Fund

Qualifying New Jersey residents can receive special services and financial assistance.

FALL ENROLLMENT

  • First-year: December 1
  • Transfer: February 1
  • Returning: January 15

SPRING ENROLLMENT

  • October 1

Qualifying undergraduate and graduate students may be offered financial aid packages that are a combination of various types of aid:

Gift Aid

Scholarships, awards, and grants are gift aid, and do not need to be paid back.

Scholarships and awards recognize academic merit.

Grants and programs such as Bridging the Gap or EOF recognize financial need.

Loans

Loans must be repaid and can come from federal, state, and university sources as well as private lenders. Loan repayment usually begins after graduation. 

Work-Study

The Federal Work-Study program allows students to earn money for college expenses while gaining valuable skills. Work-study jobs are part-time and available on- or off-campus.
